I, too can see the box. I wonder what's in it... Maybe Steve's Past? His hopes and fears? Maybe it's candy, although the detector should've picked that up... What are the properties of this magic box?
Look, he got a snack detector for bears-- so when cooper became a random kid in a car, the detector went off. The humor comes in the fact that steve doesn't even consider that, but thinks the cheezit is supposed to be the snack.

Just dangling in the breeze from the end of Steve's arm.
I think this phenomenon also applies to the way small children seem to generate an unusual stickiness field.

That model looks rather old. This is the 21st century and cordless is now the way to go.

Steve is doing more of that 'carrying an invisible box of constantly varying dimensions' thing again. Am...am I the only one who notices this?

Maybe it's similar to what happens in a hadron collider. . .

After 30 seconds Cooper would have spilled chocolate milk all over the backseat and onto the floor

i think the anomaly is that he's taking two snackless objects, combining them and finding a snack.
the backseat kid phenomenon.

Indeed. I can vouch for this effect. It has ruined both ov our family cars (no food allowed!)

This comic is about the propensity of a child to mess up an otherwise clean car with his or her snack food.
